BREAKING NEWS: The U.S. launched cruise missiles against a Syrian regime target in retaliation for a chemical attack. 

After changing his position on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad staying in power earlier Thursday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson briefed President Trump on military options in Syria. In an impromptu press conference, Tillerson said of Assad, “It will seem that there would be no role for him to govern the Syrian people.” When asked about a possibility of removing Assad, Tillerson replied “Those steps are underway.
Mr. Trump gave a brief statement in Florida. He said he authorized the strike and there is no dispute Syria used “banned chemical weapons.”

APDA Crisis Deepens as Parallel Executive Committees Sack One Another

The crisis rocking the newly registered Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (ADPA) took a new turn on Tuesday, as the executive committees of its rival factions announced the sack of one another. Loyalists to the Raymond Dokpesi-led Board of Trustees met in Abuja and sacked the Shittu Muhammad-led Interim National Working Committee of the party. Similarly, the Shittu-led NWC also announced at a seperate meeting that Dokpesi and his loyalists have been sacked from the party. The Dokpesi-led stakeholders insisted that the tenures of the NWC members had expired since June 14 this year in line with the constitution of the Party, adding that the meeting complied with the Party’s Constitution  as well as provisions of the Electoral Act as amended.
