Breaking: Senator Adeleke Family Speaks on His Death, Fails to Acknowledge Aregbesola By Abdulrofiu Agboola The family of late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke has spoken on the death of their lovely son, husband, brother and sibling, who died on Sunday morning. Led by Dr Deji Adeleke, who is the younger brother to the deceased, the family said their brother was not sick, describing his death as a rude shock. Isiaka Adeleke, the Osun West Senator who died suddenly yesterday in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital, was killed by an overdose of painkillers administered to him by an unqualified medical technician, SaharaReporters has learned. Senator Isiaka Adeleke Is Dead A member of the Nigerian Senate, Isiaka Adeleke has died. The three-term Senator currently representing Osun West Senatorial district having won the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in 2015. Mr. Adeleke died today at Bikets Hospital in Oshogbo the Osun state capital after suffering a heart attack according to family sources.  Senator Adeleke was also a former governor of Osun state. His remains will be buried later today at his hometown, Ede according to Muslim rites. He was 62 years.

Head of Service of the Federation Oyo-ita Gives Parents Of Quintuplets’ House and Job in Abuja

Mrs Winifred Oyo - Ita Head of Service of the Federation has promised to give a house to the couple who recently delivered quintuplets at the National Hospital Abuja. Oyo - Ita made the promise while visiting the children on Saturday in Abuja. She said that the house will be given under the Federal Integrated Staff Housing ( FISH) Scheme. She also promised Mr Imudia Uduehi, father of the quintuplets who is a graduate from the University of Ilorin, Kwara state a job with the Federal Civil Service. Uduehi, at the moment is unemployed. She described the children as great blessings given to the couple by God on a platter of gold. She said the job offer to Uduehi would enable him cater for the children. “I am very happy for you and I am standing here this afternoon representing the entire civil service of Nigeria. 30 Killed at Football Viewing Ventre In Calabar

A man who survived the tragic incident that led to the electrocution of “over 30 people” at a football viewing centre in Calabar, capital of Cross River state, has his stars to thank. CALABAR—A Head Teacher with the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, on Grade Level 13 has been demoted to the post of a gateman on Grade Level 04, while 758 others were sent to lower grade levels for using fake certificates to gain employment into the service. Dr. Stephen Odey, Chairman of SUBEB, told Vanguard in Calabar that over 758 teachers with fake certificates and 700 ghost teachers were uncovered during a recent screening by the board across the state. He said: “We got a lot of petitions from stakeholders intimating us about the presence of teachers in the system who are using fake certificates and we had to embark on a screening of the teachers across the state and what we saw was marvellous.” Dr. Odey said the fake certificates have been confiscated from their owners. Dangote Oil Refining Company Limited has said the installation of equipment for the crude oil refinery being built in Lagos will begin this month. The Head, Quality Assurance/Quality Compliance and Construction, DORC, Mr. Rama Putta, told our correspondent, who visited the site of the plant, that the 650,000-barrels-per-day refinery would come on stream by September 2019. Putta said bringing the land to three metres above the mean sea level was the biggest challenge, adding, “The sand is tightly compacted and ready for the erection of the equipment. No flood can affect our area. The surrounding area is only one metre above the mean sea level. The entire Lagos is only 1.5 metres above the main sea level. “We dredged sand from the Atlantic Ocean, about 60 million cubic metres. The world’s biggest dredgers dredged the sand for about 18 months. It’s a big job and is completed successfully. PRESIDENT BUHARI SUSPENDS SGF AND DG, NIA

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT BUHARI SUSPENDS SGF AND DG, NIA President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr David Babachir Lawal, in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). The President has also directed the suspension of the SGF from office pending the outcome of the investigations. In a related development, the President has ordered a full scale investigation into the discovery of large amounts of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, over which the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has made a claim. The investigation is also to enquire into the circumstances in which the NIA came into possession of the funds, how and by whose or which authority the funds were made available to the
